Dr. Mitchell Gaynor, a New York oncologist and Clinical Professor of medicine at Weill Medical College of Cornel University, and author of The Healing Power of Sound states that:
“If we accept that sound is vibration, and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being, the way we understand sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies. Sound enters the healing equation from several directions: It may alter cellular functions through energetic effects; it may entrain biological systems to function more homeostatically; it may calm the mind and therefore the body; or it may have emotional effects, which influence neurotransmitters (a chemical substance that is released at the end of the nerve fiber by the arrival of a nerve impulse and, by diffusing across the synapse or junction, causes the transfer of the impulse to another nerve/fiber, a muscle fiber, or some other structure) and neuropeptides (any of a group of compounds that act as neurotransmitters), which in turn help to regulate the immune system-the-healer within.”
Combining the power of sound with the power of crystal is not something new. During the ancient times of Atlantis and Egypt sounds were used to resonate spiritual energy centers, the Chakras. The history of singing bowls also dates back before the Buddha, Shakyamni (560-480 B.C.). Their histories are shrouded in mystery, but are said to have come from the 'Bon' religion which precedes Buddhism in Tibet by centuries. Originally they were made from an 'unknown' material, metal alloy, then brass, glass, and in recent times, quartz crystal.
Sound is heard not only through ears but through the cells of the body. Sound can correct imbalances on every level of physiologic functioning and helps in the treatment of virtually any disorder. Sound vibrations from singing bowl puts us back into alignment with the universal flow of perfection that is our true nature. We are vessels through which frequency of perfection it transmitted, we are also the transmitter.
The sound of the singing bowls brings the body back into alignment with the DNA within each cell. Singing bowls help to calm the mind and focus the thoughts. Singing bowls assist in connecting the individual with the universe.
With crystal sound affecting the body and, in particular, the brain, the resonance relays an order that allows consciousness to travel into altered states of awareness. Whether it is endorphins or other hormones that are released, it has been established that neuro-chemicals can empower the will to overcome limitations, reduce pain, and develop creativity. It has actually been measured; singing bowls produce a wave pattern similar to alpha waves of the brain.
The crystal bowls enhance the vibration of white light. This light is then refracted into the color spectrum and correlates by affinity to the colors of our Chakras as the sound is produced. This exchange helps us align to our true selves and light source.
Sound mind and sound body are like music to our ears.
The universe is in a state of vibration. The frequency of vibration that is natural to a particular being is called its resonance. When healthy, all parts of a body resonate with the vibrational frequency of the complete being. When unhealthy, part of the being is vibrating out of harmony or is blocked, so parts of the physicality are compromised, be it the nerves, blood vessels, cells, or structure (skeleton) due to the vibrations being unable to innervate these parts. With the use of light and sound these blockages can be loosened, dissolved, and released and one can be restored to natural, healthy, resonance.
